Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,580 - $1,700
- Employment Type: Travel Polysomnography Technologist
- Setting: Hospital Sleep Lab
- Shift: 10-hour overnight shifts, 8:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
- Shifts per Week: 3
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: 09/14/2026
- Schedule: Rotating weekends
- Location: Youngstown, Ohio area; near Boardman, Northeast Ohio
- Work Environment: In-person patient care setting
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in neurophysiology, sleep medicine, or sleep disorders medicine required
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- One of the following credentials required: RPSGT, RST, or RT with SDS credential where applicable
- BLS required before patient care
- Polysomnography state licensure preferred for Ohio, if applicable
- Strong computer skills and accuracy with data entry
- Knowledge of sleep medicine guidelines, sleep study protocols, and diagnostic testing
- Ability to work overnight shifts and rotating weekends
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for sleep studies and clearly explain procedures
- Review clinical data and patient history to determine appropriate testing methods
- Operate polysomnographic equipment to obtain accurate diagnostic recordings
- Score sleep stages and events in alignment with AASM guidelines
- Identify normal versus abnormal results and perform additional testing when needed
- Document detailed, accurate technical reports to support physician interpretation
- Review studies with physicians to clarify discrepancies
- Troubleshoot sleep lab and office equipment as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow hospital policies and procedures
- Assist with scheduling, patient charges, and general office support when needed
- Stay current in the field through continuing education and quality assurance practices
