• Duration: 4 weeks
• Shift Duration: 8-hour day shifts
• Shifts Per Week: 5
• Schedule: Primarily 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, with occasional 10:00 AM–6:00 PM shifts
• Hours Per Week: 40
• Orientation: 8 hours
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $3,240–$3,470

Job Requirements

• Master’s degree required
• At least 2 years of hospital clinical laboratory experience
• Experience in surgical pathology required
• ASCP or ASCP-PA certification preferred
• Experience with EPIC preferred; documentation system experience required
• Strong skills in gross examination, specimen handling, and histological processing
• Comfort reviewing scans, X-rays, and laboratory results to support clinical decision-making
• Ability to meet New York compliance requirements for assignment onboarding

Responsibilities

• Perform gross examination and dissection of small biopsies and large or complex surgical pathology specimens
• Prepare detailed macroscopic descriptions of gross anatomic features
• Section surgical pathology specimens and prepare tissue for histological processing
• Receive, identify, accession, and label specimens accurately
• Capture and analyze gross and microscopic photographs as needed
• Review relevant patient clinical information, including imaging and lab data
• Support the pathology team with careful, detail-oriented specimen processing in a hospital setting
