- RTO Policy: Up to 7 days maximum
Job Requirements
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential preferred; qualified Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) candidates who are registry-eligible with appropriate experience may be considered
- Experience in acute care, critical care, or hospital-based respiratory therapy preferred
- Ability to work night shifts in a fast-paced trauma center environment
- Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach
- Ability to maintain clinical documentation and follow departmental protocols
Responsibilities
- Confirm physician orders, assess appropriateness of therapy, and support quality patient care
- Monitor, document, and evaluate patient response to respiratory treatments
- Explain procedures to patients and address questions or concerns in a professional manner
- Perform respiratory and pulmonary procedures according to department policies and protocols
- Respond to emergencies and assist with cardiopulmonary resuscitation as needed
- Set up and maintain equipment, administer medical gases and medications, and support supply stocking
- Participate in patient care teams, quality improvement initiatives, and educational activities
- Maintain proficiency in respiratory care skills and stay current on new techniques and equipment
