Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of respiratory therapy experience required
• Graduate of an AMA-accredited Respiratory Care program
• Active New York State Respiratory Therapist license required
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care required
• BLS and ACLS required
• NRP and PALS preferred
• Strong knowledge of acid/base balance and electrolyte relationships, especially in life-threatening situations
• Ability to work a 12-hour night schedule in an acute care hospital environment

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care to hospitalized patients in a fast-paced clinical setting
• Establish ventilator settings using metric measurements and advanced principles of volume, flow, pressure, and time relationships
• Monitor patient status and respond appropriately to changes in condition
• Support safe and effective respiratory treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team
• Apply clinical knowledge to assess and manage patients experiencing respiratory distress
• Document care accurately in the EMR and maintain strong attention to detail
