Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Echocardiography Technologist, Cardiac Sonographer, or Ultrasound Tech to support a high-volume hospital echo lab serving adult inpatient and acute care patients. This travel healthcare job is ideal for a skilled sonographer who is confident performing advanced echocardiography studies, values accuracy and collaboration, and enjoys contributing to excellent patient care in a Level I trauma environment.

- Setting: Inpatient hospital echocardiography lab

- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: 10/12/2026
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,280 - $2,450
- Shift Duration: 10-hour days
- Schedule: Rotating day shifts with rotating weekends
- Call: Overnight call coverage 2-3 nights per month
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Daily Volume: Approximately 7-8 echocardiograms per day
Job Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of echocardiography experience
- At least 2 years of acute inpatient echo experience in a trauma-level facility
- Proficiency with transthoracic echocardiograms (TTEs), stress echocardiograms, and transesophageal echocardiograms (TEEs)
- Experience with 3D echo and strain imaging preferred
- Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, pathology, and image optimization techniques
- Ability to follow lab standards, accreditation guidelines, and quality protocols
- Excellent patient care, communication, and time management skills
- Commitment to teamwork, feedback, and continuous improvement
- Certification as an Ultrasound Tech, Sonographer, or equivalent experience
Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality echocardiography studies in a busy inpatient hospital environment
- Complete TTE, stress echo, and TEE exams with accuracy and efficiency
- Use advanced imaging techniques, including 3D echo and strain imaging, when appropriate
- Optimize image quality through proper scanning technique and equipment settings
- Maintain compliance with ASE and IAC standards, as well as internal lab protocols
- Manage a high-volume workflow while maintaining strong diagnostic quality
- Provide a positive patient experience with clear communication and professionalism
- Collaborate with cardiologists, sonographers, and fellows during case reviews and educational opportunities
- Participate in rotating weekend coverage and overnight call as scheduled
