• Position: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Employment Type: Travel Respiratory Therapist
• Location: Portland, Maine 04102 — a welcoming coastal area known for its scenic waterfront, historic charm, and lively dining and cultural scene
• Assignment Length: 16 weeks
• Start Date: October 5, 2026
• Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Hours Per Week: 36 guaranteed hours
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,890 - $2,030
• Call Requirements: Yes, with a 2-hour response expectation for the oncoming shift
• Setting: Hospital respiratory therapy department with coverage across multiple patient care areas
• Preferred Environment: Teaching hospital and tertiary care experience strongly valued

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• Minimum of 3 years of respiratory therapy experience required
• BLS required
• ACLS preferred
• NRP required for NICU coverage
• Experience in a tertiary care or teaching hospital preferred
• Level I trauma experience preferred
• Comfort working in NICU, PICU, acute care pediatrics, ED, adult acute care, and critical care
• Strong communication skills, flexibility, and a team-first mindset
• Ability to adapt to varied patient assignments and evolving clinical needs

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory therapy care across the hospital with a collaborative clinical team
• Support patients in acute care, critical care, pediatric, neonatal, and emergency department settings
• Perform respiratory care interventions based on patient condition and unit needs
• Respond to call as needed and assist with oncoming shift coverage
• Float as a travel RRT to areas such as NICU, PICU, ED, and other acute care assignments
• Operate respiratory equipment including Drager, Hamilton, Respironics, Trilogy, Airvo, and Vapotherm systems
• Document patient care and monitor progress using EPIC
• Work effectively with a large interdisciplinary healthcare team to support patient-centered care
• Maintain a professional, adaptable, and compassionate approach in a busy hospital environment
