Job Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology training program
• ARRT registration in Radiology
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association
• At least 1 year of experience performing radiologic procedures in a hospital, clinic, or physician office
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and radiology safety practices
• Ability to communicate clearly and follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to troubleshoot radiology equipment and make simple adjustments as needed

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for diagnostic imaging exams, explain procedures, and answer questions in a professional and reassuring manner
• Review imaging orders for appropriate exams and verify patient identity using two identifiers
• Position patients accurately and capture the correct X-ray and imaging views using proper technique
• Operate CR, DR, and fluoroscopy equipment safely and efficiently
• Transfer images to PACS, scan documents, route studies, and update priorities as needed
• Assist radiologists and fluoroscopy staff with special procedures
• Move portable radiographic equipment to departments such as the Emergency Department, Operating Room, PACU, and nursing units
• Follow sterile technique when working in the OR or during special procedures
• Prepare and administer IV and oral contrast media as directed, and document contrast reactions appropriately
• Maintain radiation safety standards and practice ALARA principles at all times
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and fully stocked
• Support clerical workflows, quality assurance tasks, and office functions as needed
• Deliver excellent customer service to patients, staff, and visitors
