Job Requirements

• Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required; Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) may be considered if registry eligible and experienced
• At least 1 year of respiratory care or hospital-based respiratory therapy experience preferred
• Experience in adult acute care, inpatient respiratory therapy, or a hospital setting strongly desired
• Ability to work night shifts and contribute in a high-acuity, fast-paced healthcare environment
• Comfort working with ventilators, noninvasive ventilation, and transport equipment
• Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills
• Must meet onboarding requirements, including required screenings, competency items, and background checks

Responsibilities

• Confirm physician orders and assess respiratory treatments for appropriateness and quality
• Monitor, document, and evaluate patient response to respiratory therapy interventions
• Explain procedures to patients and address questions or concerns with professionalism and compassion
• Perform respiratory and pulmonary procedures per protocol and department policy
• Respond to emergencies and assist with cardiopulmonary resuscitation as needed
• Set up, maintain, and manage respiratory equipment and medical gases
• Support stocking of supplies and medications as needed
• Participate in patient care teams, quality improvement initiatives, and educational activities
• Maintain proficiency with equipment and current respiratory care practices
