Travel MRI Technologist Job Details

• Location: Portland, Maine
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,120–$2,270
• Assignment Type: Travel healthcare contract
• Start Date: October 4, 2026
• Duration: 26 weeks, with an assignment end date of April 3, 2027
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts
• Schedule: Evening, overnight, and weekend scheduling options may be available based on assignment needs
• Patient Population: Inpatients and outpatients
• Equipment: Philips 1.5T and 3T MRI scanners
• Documentation System: Epic

MRI Technologist Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience as an MRI Technologist or Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist
• Demonstrated experience operating Philips MRI scanners, including 1.5T systems
• ARRT (MR) and AMRIT credentials as required for the assignment
• Level I trauma center experience strongly preferred
• Experience caring for ICU and anesthesia patients preferred
• Strong knowledge of MRI safety, imaging protocols, and contrast procedures
• Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity diagnostic imaging environment
• Reliable, flexible, self-directed, and team-oriented work style
• Ability to rotate between locations when assignment needs require

MRI Technologist Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality MRI examinations for inpatient and outpatient populations
• Operate Philips 1.5T and 3T MRI scanners safely and efficiently
• Complete diagnostic imaging studies across neuro, spine, brain, brain perfusion, abdominal, MRCP, kidney, pelvic, and musculoskeletal imaging
• Provide appropriate care and monitoring for ICU, anesthesia, and high-acuity patients
• Screen patients for MRI safety risks and verify exam protocols before imaging
• Follow established protocols while applying sound clinical judgment when modifications are necessary
• Accurately document examinations and patient information in Epic
• Communicate clearly with patients, radiologists, nurses, technologists, and other members of the care team
• Maintain a patient-centered focus on safety, quality, comfort, and timely service
