Ultrasound Sonographer Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,571-$2,856
• Location: New Hartford, New York
• Specialty: Ultrasound Sonography and Diagnostic Medical Sonography

• Duration: 13-week healthcare contract
• Schedule: 5 shifts per week, 8-hour shifts
• Shift: Days, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Workload: Approximately 22 cases per day in a busy ultrasound department

Ultrasound Sonographer Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of ultrasound sonography or diagnostic medical sonographer experience in an acute care setting
• ARDMS certification required
• Current BLS certification required
• Demonstrated proficiency with a broad range of diagnostic ultrasound examinations, including vascular, pediatric, thyroid, testicular, breast, obstetric, renal, and abdominal studies
• Experience managing a fast-paced workload with 20 or more patients per day
• Strong patient-care, communication, and organizational skills

Ultrasound Sonographer Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations according to established protocols and quality standards
• Complete Doppler studies of the upper and lower extremities, including venous and arterial examinations
• Perform pediatric studies such as hip and pyloric ultrasound examinations
• Conduct thyroid, testicular, breast, obstetric, renal, abdominal, and related diagnostic imaging studies
• Accurately document examination findings and maintain complete patient records
• Provide clear instructions and compassionate patient care throughout each examination
• Collaborate effectively with providers and the medical imaging team in a high-volume environment
• Maintain ultrasound equipment, follow safety procedures, and support efficient daily department operations
