Interventional Radiology Technologist Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of professional experience in interventional radiology or a comparable procedural imaging environment
• Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program
• ARRT certification
• Valid Massachusetts state radiography license
• Current Basic Life Support certification
• Demonstrated experience with both diagnostic imaging and interventional radiology procedures
• Experience supporting neuro, cardiac, vascular, or endovascular procedures preferred
• Ability to function effectively as both a sterile scrub technologist and case circulator

Interventional Radiology Technologist Responsibilities

• Operate and manage imaging equipment during minimally invasive, image-guided procedures
• Provide sterile scrub and circulating support in interventional radiology and operating room settings
• Assist with angiography, embolization, venous access, venography, myelography, and abdominal interventions
• Support paracentesis, thoracentesis, biopsy, TIPS, dialysis access and fistula procedures, and Y-90/SIRT cases
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, advanced practice providers, residents, and fellow technologists to promote safe, efficient patient care
• Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, supplies, and imaging systems before each case
• Maintain sterile technique and follow department safety, quality, and documentation standards
• Adapt to coverage needs across interventional radiology, CT-guided procedures, vascular surgery, cardiac hybrid procedures, endovascular neurosurgery, and endoscopic interventions
