Travel Ultrasound Technologist Job Details

• Position: Travel Ultrasound Technologist / Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
• Healthcare Setting: Hospital radiology and ultrasound department
• Location: Hyannis, Massachusetts
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,260–$2,430
• Start Date: November 23, 2026
• End Date: February 20, 2027
• Assignment Duration: 13-week travel assignment
• Schedule: 40 hours per week
• Shift Duration: 8-hour shifts
• Shift Times: Variable start times between 8:00 a.m. and midnight, including occasional evening shifts and rotating weekends
• Work Arrangement: On-site hospital position

Ultrasound Technologist Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of clinical ultrasound experience
• Graduate of an accredited ultrasound technology or diagnostic medical sonography program
• Active American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) credentials
• Current ARDMS registration in both Abdomen and OB/GYN
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
• All certifications and registrations must remain active and current throughout the assignment
• Strong commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, professionalism, and service excellence

Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and ultrasound equipment for diagnostic examinations.
• Select the appropriate transducer type and frequency for each ultrasound examination.
• Review relevant patient history, physical examination findings, and supporting clinical information.
• Position patients safely and adjust immobilization devices as needed to obtain optimal diagnostic images.
• Explain procedures, answer patient questions, and promote comfort and cooperation throughout examinations.
• Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations and evaluate images for technical quality.
• Maintain accurate radiology records and ensure all images are properly labeled and identified.
• Assist physicians with specialized ultrasound procedures and needle biopsies.
• Maintain ultrasound equipment, supplies, and related documentation to support efficient department operations.
• Coordinate workflow to promote timely completion of examinations in accordance with established procedures.
• Follow hospital, radiology, infection prevention, fire, and emergency preparedness policies.
• Protect patient confidentiality and maintain professional relationships with patients, families, physicians, and colleagues.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
