Travel Radiologic Technologist Job Details

• Location: Rochester, New York
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,380–$2,550
• Start Date: October 19, 2026
• End Date: January 16, 2027
• Duration: 13-week travel contract
• Schedule: 5 shifts per week, Monday through Friday
• Shift Duration: 8-hour day shifts
• Call: Approximately 2–3 call shifts per month, with callback and holiday coverage based on unit needs
• On-Call Response: Must be able to report within 30 minutes when assigned to call
• Work Setting: On-site radiology, operating room, and Level I trauma environment

Radiologic Technologist Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist or X-Ray Technologist
• Completion of an approved formal radiologic technology program
• Current ARRT certification
• Current New York State radiologic technology license, or eligibility to obtain licensure before the start date
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
• Recent experience using C-arm and/or O-arm equipment within the past 8 months
• Recent operating room experience, preferably in a Level I trauma center
• Level I trauma center experience
• Ability to lift and reposition patients safely
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Patient-focused, compassionate, and collaborative approach

Radiologic Technologist Responsibilities

• Verify patient identity, review provider orders, and confirm the appropriate examination before beginning procedures.
• Perform diagnostic X-ray procedures using appropriate positioning and imaging techniques.
• Operate radiologic equipment safely and efficiently while minimizing patient radiation exposure.
• Explain procedures clearly, answer patient questions, and provide compassionate patient care.
• Safely lift, move, and position patients with limited mobility.
• Produce high-quality diagnostic images for radiologist interpretation.
• Use electronic patient information systems to verify patient details, exam information, and special instructions.
• Follow dual-patient-identifier procedures and maintain accurate documentation.
• Ensure images are correctly identified and transmitted to the PACS system.
• Support operating room imaging procedures, including the use of C-arm and O-arm equipment.
• Monitor equipment performance and promptly report damaged or malfunctioning equipment.
• Participate in assigned call, callback, and holiday coverage according to departmental needs.
