Travel Respiratory Therapist Job Details

• Location: Oregon, Ohio, near Toledo
• Healthcare Setting: Hospital respiratory therapy department
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,730–$1,860
• Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week; approximately 36 hours per week
• Weekend/Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend and holiday coverage
• Start Date: October 26, 2026
• End Date: February 8, 2027
• Assignment Duration: 15 weeks
• Work Arrangement: On-site hospital assignment
• Float Requirement: May float to other hospitals within the Toledo market as needed

Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience as a respiratory therapist or respiratory care professional
• Current Ohio Respiratory Care license
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Ability to provide respiratory care for neonates, infants, pediatric patients, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• Strong patient assessment, communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work night shifts, weekend and holiday rotations, and in a fast-paced acute care hospital environment

Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

• Assess patients, develop respiratory care plans, deliver respiratory therapies, and evaluate treatment effectiveness
• Perform respiratory care procedures within the scope of licensure and according to physician orders
• Manage and maintain CPAP, BiPAP, oxygen therapy, high-flow oxygen, ventilators, continuous aerosol therapy, and other respiratory equipment
• Perform pulse oximetry, arterial blood gas collection and testing, airway maneuvers, bedside pulmonary function testing, and chest physiotherapy
• Respond to cardiopulmonary resuscitation events and provide immediate respiratory support when clinically indicated
• Monitor patient responses and recommend therapy modifications to physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Educate patients and caregivers on respiratory conditions, oxygen therapy, inhaler use, incentive spirometry, aerosol therapy, and ventilator care when applicable
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation, patient records, equipment, supplies, and infection-control practices
• Collaborate effectively with patients, families, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
• Serve as a preceptor or resource to new team members and students as assigned
• Provide charge therapist support when designated, including staffing assignments, coverage coordination, and response to call-offs
