MRI Technologist Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,150–$2,310
• Healthcare Setting: Hospital MRI unit
• Location: Elmira, New York
• Start Date: October 4, 2026
• End Date: January 2, 2027
• Contract Duration: 13-week contract
• Schedule: 40 hours per week
• Shift Duration: 8-hour evening shifts
• Shift Pattern: Monday–Thursday, 2:30 p.m.–11:00 p.m.; Friday, 11:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.

MRI Technologist Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience as an MRI Technologist, MRI Technician, or Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist
• MRI Technologist certification or equivalent professional credential
• Valid New York State license or authorization required for contrast injection
• Ability to safely operate MRI equipment and follow established diagnostic imaging protocols
• Strong patient communication, organization, and attention to detail
• Ability to work the assigned evening schedule in an on-site hospital environment

MRI Technologist Responsibilities

• Perform MRI examinations according to physician orders and departmental imaging protocols
• Prepare patients for MRI procedures, explain examinations, and promote patient comfort and safety
• Administer contrast agents in accordance with New York State requirements and approved protocols
• Screen patients for MRI safety risks, including implants, metal objects, and other contraindications
• Operate and maintain MRI equipment while producing high-quality diagnostic images
• Review images for technical quality and coordinate with radiologists and clinical staff
• Maintain accurate patient and imaging documentation
• Follow infection prevention, MRI safety, and departmental quality standards
