Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of professional sonography or diagnostic medical sonographer experience
• Adult imaging experience required
• ARDMS certification with either Abdomen (AB) or Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB) credential required; both credentials preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Pediatric imaging experience preferred
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, every other weekend, and an assigned call rotation
• Ability to adapt to hospital and outpatient imaging workflows
• Strong communication, clinical judgment, and patient-care skills

Travel Sonographer Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations according to established protocols and clinical indications
• Provide high-quality diagnostic imaging for adult patients in a hospital-based setting
• Support vascular, women’s health, and general ultrasound services based on department needs and qualifications
• Obtain and document accurate patient histories and relevant clinical information
• Evaluate image quality and acquire additional views as clinically appropriate
• Communicate effectively with physicians, lead technologists, and the broader healthcare team
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record
• Follow department, patient-safety, infection-control, and imaging-quality standards
• Adapt to assignments at the primary hospital location and outpatient imaging center when needed
