Join a collaborative respiratory care team as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in Toledo, Ohio. This 13-week travel respiratory therapy contract offers experienced RRTs the opportunity to provide acute and critical care for diverse patient populations in a supportive hospital environment.
Travel Respiratory Therapist Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,500–$1,620
- Location: Toledo, Ohio
- Healthcare Setting: Hospital respiratory care, including adult critical care, acute care, and emergency services
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: October 27, 2026
- End Date: January 26, 2027
- Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week, approximately 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Orientation: 36 hours
- Floating: Regional floating within the Toledo metro area may be required, including mid-shift coverage when needed
- Electronic Medical Record: Epic
Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent acute-care respiratory therapy experience
- Active Ohio Registered Respiratory Therapist license in hand at the time of submission
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
- Epic charting experience required
- Recent adult critical care and emergency department experience preferred
- Comfort caring for adults and geriatric patients; pediatric experience is preferred
- Must be comfortable providing basic respiratory therapy care to pediatric and pediatric emergency patients
- High-risk delivery experience is preferred; candidates with limited experience must be open to on-site training
- Working knowledge of arterial blood gas sampling and interpretation
- Ability to float between regional hospital locations as needed
Registered Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities
- Provide general and critical respiratory care for patients ranging from neonates and pediatrics to adults and geriatrics
- Assess, treat, and educate patients with asthma, COPD, emphysema, pneumonia, and other pulmonary and non-pulmonary diagnoses
- Initiate, manage, and wean patients from invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation, including BiPAP and CPAP
- Perform airway management, suctioning, extubation support, tracheostomy care, and pulmonary hygiene
- Monitor cuffs, end-tidal CO2, ventilator parameters, and spontaneous breathing trials
- Assist with intubations, high-risk deliveries, rapid responses, and emergency codes
- Perform CPR, blood gas collection and analysis, specimen collection, and respiratory assessments
- Administer respiratory medications and deliver aerosolized treatments using nebulizers, masks, tracheostomy collars, and metered-dose inhalers
- Provide care using equipment such as Servo-I, Avea, and Bella Vista ventilators
- Maintain invasive and arterial line tubing and bags when assigned
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and the interdisciplinary care team to support safe, evidence-based patient care
