MRI Technologist Job Details

• Location: Jamaica Plain, Boston, Massachusetts
• Setting: Hospital MRI and radiology department
• Assignment Type: Travel MRI Technologist contract
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,340–$2,510
• Start Date: October 19, 2026
• End Date: January 17, 2027
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, primarily Friday through Sunday
• Shift Duration: Approximately 12.5-hour shifts; Friday 6:00 a.m.–6:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 11:00 a.m.–11:30 p.m.

MRI Technologist Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience working as an MRI Technologist
• Current MRI Technologist certification or license, with verification required
• Proficiency in MRI safety procedures, patient screening, positioning, and diagnostic imaging protocols
• Strong patient-care, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with radiologists, technologists, nurses, and other clinical staff
• Successful completion of required credentialing and hospital onboarding processes

MRI Technologist Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic MRI examinations according to established protocols and hospital radiology department standards
• Screen patients for MRI safety, contraindications, and relevant clinical history
• Prepare and position patients while providing clear instructions and compassionate patient care
• Operate MRI equipment safely and efficiently to produce high-quality diagnostic images
• Evaluate image quality and obtain additional sequences when clinically appropriate
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow all applicable MRI safety, infection-control, and regulatory guidelines
• Communicate effectively with the care team to support timely patient diagnosis and treatment
