Travel Cath Lab Technologist Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,830–$3,040
- Location: Hyannis, Massachusetts
- Setting: Hospital-based cardiovascular procedural area and interventional radiology
- Start Date: November 2, 2026
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks, ending January 30, 2027
- Schedule: 40 hours per week; primarily 8-hour shifts
- Shift Options: Start times may include 7:00 a.m., 8:00 a.m., or 9:00 a.m.
- Call Requirement: Rotating call coverage for nights, weekends, and holidays
- On-Site: Yes
Cath Lab Technologist Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of post-technical-school radiology experience or 2 years of experience as a Special Procedures Technologist
- High school diploma or GED
- Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited Radiologic Technology program
- Current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Current Massachusetts Radiologic Technologist license
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Ability to successfully complete a basic arrhythmia examination
- Intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) competency or experience
- Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, radiation safety, interventional supplies, and procedural equipment
- Interventional radiology experience is preferred
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to wear required radiation-protection equipment, including a lead apron
Travel Cath Lab Technologist Responsibilities
- Assist with diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures by scrubbing, circulating, monitoring, and recording hemodynamic parameters
- Operate radiologic and interventional equipment while maintaining image quality and patient safety
- Acquire, process, and transfer images to the PACS system
- Support interventional radiology procedures, including endovascular interventions, peripheral angiography, embolization, IVC filter placement, lytics, dialysis access procedures, TIPS, PICC placement, biopsies, drains, and feeding or biliary tube procedures
- Prepare, position, transfer, and monitor patients throughout procedures
- Provide procedure-specific patient education and maintain a compassionate, service-focused experience
- Apply radiation-safety principles, including shielding and exposure minimization for patients and staff
- Assist with room, table, and sterile-tray setup, turnover, and equipment cleaning
- Assist physicians with contrast administration during arterial, venous, and percutaneous procedures
- Document supplies, implants, and other regulatory information associated with each procedure
- Assist vascular surgeons and interventional radiologists in the operating room as needed
- Complete daily checklists, equipment inspections, preventive-maintenance activities, and malfunction reporting
- Maintain department inventory and demonstrate proficiency with computerized information systems
- Participate in ongoing education, competency validation, quality-improvement initiatives, and departmental training
- Provide rotating on-call coverage for nights, weekends, and holidays
