Join a pediatric cardiology imaging team as a Pediatric Echo Technologist or Cardiac Sonographer in Columbus, Ohio. This 13-week travel healthcare opportunity is ideal for an experienced sonographer skilled in neonatal, pediatric, and congenital heart disease echocardiography. You'll perform high-quality diagnostic imaging for patients from neonates through adolescents while enjoying Columbus's vibrant culture, dining, parks, and central Ohio recreation.

- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,420-$2,600
- Location: Columbus, Ohio
- Assignment Type: 13-week pediatric echocardiography travel contract
- Assignment Dates: January 18, 2027 through April 19, 2027
- Healthcare Setting: Pediatric cardiology diagnostic ultrasound and echocardiography
- Schedule: 5 shifts per week, 8-hour day shifts; approximately 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m./4:30 p.m.
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Call, Weekend, and Holiday Coverage: Not required
- Orientation: 16 hours
- Patient Population: Neonates, infants, children, and adolescents
- Travel Requirement: Travel assignment; applicants residing within 60 miles are not eligible
Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer Job Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience as an Echo Technologist, Pediatric Echo Technologist, or Cardiac Sonographer, including pediatric experience
- ARDMS RDCS or CCI-RCS certification required; applicable pediatric, fetal, or adult echocardiography credentials accepted based on scope of practice
- Demonstrated proficiency in pediatric echocardiography and congenital heart disease imaging
- Experience with 2-D echocardiography, M-mode, color Doppler, continuous-wave Doppler, and pulsed-wave Doppler
- Ability to perform portable echocardiography studies and provide imaging support in intensive care settings
- Experience with complex congenital and post-surgical cardiac anatomy preferred
- Familiarity with bubble studies, fetal echocardiography, and isolation precautions/PPE preferred
- Siemens system experience preferred
- Two professional references required at submission, including at least one manager or supervisor reference
- Strong communication, organization, teamwork, and patient-centered care skills
Pediatric Echocardiography Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality pediatric and neonatal echocardiographic examinations for routine and complex cardiac cases
- Acquire, measure, and document diagnostic images using 2-D, M-mode, color, continuous-wave, and pulsed-wave Doppler techniques
- Evaluate and image congenital cardiac conditions, including abnormalities involving the aortic arch, pulmonary venous return, coronary arteries, cardiac valves, and ventricular outflow tracts
- Support imaging for coarctation of the aorta, tetralogy of Fallot, transposition of the great vessels, hypoplastic heart syndrome, and other complex congenital heart conditions
- Perform bubble studies, portable echocardiography examinations, fetal echocardiography, and imaging of post-surgical cardiac repairs as assigned
- Provide pediatric cardiac ultrasound services in outpatient, inpatient, and intensive care environments
- Adapt scanning techniques to patients ranging from neonates through adolescents while maintaining comfort, safety, and privacy
- Follow infection prevention procedures, isolation precautions, and appropriate PPE requirements
- Coordinate with pediatric cardiologists and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure timely, accurate diagnostic studies
- Remain flexible to work at scheduled clinical locations, spending the full shift at one assigned location
