Travel Respiratory Therapist Job Details
- Location: Everett, Massachusetts 02149, near Boston—an urban community offering convenient access to Boston, local parks, waterfront areas, dining, and cultural attractions
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,840–$1,980
- Assignment: 13 weeks, from November 16, 2026 through February 13, 2027
- Schedule: Rotating 12-hour shifts, typically three shifts per week
- Hours: 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Shift Pattern: Primarily nights with some evening rotation; no block scheduling
- Additional Coverage: On-call responsibilities, rotating weekends, and every other major holiday
- Healthcare Setting: Acute care hospital respiratory care unit
Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Requirements
- Registered Respiratory Therapist credential through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required at submission
- Active Massachusetts Respiratory Therapist license required
- At least 1 year of recent respiratory care experience, including acute care experience
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Demonstrated experience with airway management and mechanical ventilation
- Experience drawing, analyzing, and interpreting blood gases
- Intubation experience required
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred
- Epic experience preferred; familiarity with Meditech is helpful but not required
- Flu vaccination required during flu season
Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities
- Provide independent respiratory care coverage during assigned shifts
- Assess patients and deliver evidence-based respiratory treatments in an acute care hospital environment
- Manage airways and mechanical ventilation according to patient needs and clinical protocols
- Perform intubation procedures and support airway stabilization
- Collect blood gas specimens and accurately analyze and interpret results
- Respond to respiratory emergencies and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Document respiratory care and communicate effectively using electronic medical record systems
- Participate in rotating weekend, holiday, and on-call coverage
