Join a collaborative hospital imaging team as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in Boston’s renowned Longwood Medical area. This on-site, 13-week travel sonography assignment offers the opportunity to perform general, vascular, obstetric, and gynecologic ultrasound examinations in a dynamic clinical environment known for innovation, learning, and world-class healthcare. Travel Sonographer Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,920–$2,060
- Location: Boston, Massachusetts
- Healthcare Setting: Hospital ultrasound department
- Assignment: 13-week travel contract
- Start Date: October 5, 2026
- End Date: January 3, 2027
- Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday; 6:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
- Shift Duration: 8-hour day shifts
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Work Arrangement: On-site
- Ultrasound Equipment: GE Logiq E10 and Samsung R20
Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of professional sonography or diagnostic medical sonography experience
- Current sonography certification or professional credential appropriate for diagnostic ultrasound practice
- Ability to meet applicable Massachusetts licensure and credentialing requirements
- Demonstrated competency in general, vascular, obstetric, gynecologic, and women’s health ultrasound examinations
- Strong patient-care, communication, documentation, and teamwork skills
- Previous NICU or operating room experience is a plus
Sonographer Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with department standards and established protocols
- Conduct general ultrasound studies, including abdominal and small-parts imaging
- Perform obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound examinations supporting women’s health services
- Evaluate abdominal vasculature and complete lower-extremity deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and venous studies
- Support follicular monitoring examinations as needed
- Prepare patients, explain procedures, and promote comfort and safety throughout each examination
- Recognize pertinent findings, obtain appropriate diagnostic images, and communicate urgent or significant observations to the care team
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow quality assurance, infection prevention, and equipment-use standards
- Collaborate effectively with radiologists, providers, nurses, and other members of the hospital imaging team
