- Location: Baltimore, Maryland
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,260–$2,420
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: November 2, 2026
- End Date: February 1, 2027
- Schedule: 4 shifts per week
- Shift: 10-hour day shifts, 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Weekend Coverage: On call every sixth weekend
- Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
- Department Details: Two procedure rooms with an average daily census of approximately 10 patients
- Charting System: Cerner
Interventional Radiology Technologist Job Requirements
- At least 2 years of recent interventional radiology technologist or IR Tech experience
- Completion of at least one prior travel assignment
- Current Maryland license or compact license, as applicable
- ARRT Vascular Interventional (VI) or ARRT Cardiovascular Interventional (CVI) certification
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Recent experience with interventional radiology, special procedures, and fluoroscopy
- Proficiency with Cerner and procedural documentation
- Strong understanding of sterile technique, equipment setup, and procedural room workflow
- Current influenza vaccination is required
- Two supervisory references, including one from the most recent assignment, are required
IR Technologist Responsibilities
- Prepare patients, procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies for interventional radiology procedures
- Assist with vascular and special procedures while maintaining a sterile field
- Support fluoroscopy-guided procedures, angiography, embolization, drain exchanges, biopsies, and vascular access procedures
- Assist with central venous access, PICC line care, chest tube placement, gastrostomy tube placement, nephrostomy, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and related procedures
- Function effectively as a scrub technologist and room circulator
- Monitor patients and recognize changes requiring prompt clinical attention
- Perform accurate monitoring and assist with EKG lead placement as needed
- Operate and prepare equipment, including fluoroscopy and ultrasound systems
- Document procedures and patient care activities accurately in Cerner
- Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
- Maintain supplies, follow infection prevention standards, and support safe, efficient daily operations
