Travel Respiratory Therapist Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,630–$1,750
- Location: Cleveland, Ohio
- Healthcare Setting: Hospital respiratory care and pulmonary services
- Job Type: Travel respiratory therapist contract
- Start Date: October 26, 2026
- Contract Duration: 12 weeks, with potential extension opportunities
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour night shifts, approximately 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekend Coverage: Weekends as needed
- Floating: May float to nearby affiliated healthcare locations as needed
Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Requirements
- At least 2 years of recent experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in a hospital setting
- Active Ohio Respiratory Therapist license in hand at the time of submission
- Current National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) credential in hand at the time of submission
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification in hand at the time of submission
- Required respiratory therapy certifications and licensure must be active and not pending
- Ability to provide two recent professional references from a manager, supervisor, assistant nurse manager, or director within the applicable specialty
- Willingness to complete required background screening, occupational health screening, and facility compliance requirements
- Commitment to a smoke-free and nicotine-free workplace
Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive respiratory care to hospitalized patients in collaboration with physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Assess patients, monitor respiratory status, and implement treatment plans according to clinical orders and established respiratory care standards
- Provide respiratory treatments, oxygen therapy, airway management, and ventilatory support as appropriate to patient needs
- Recognize changes in patient condition and communicate clinical findings promptly to the care team
- Document respiratory assessments, interventions, patient responses, and ongoing care accurately in the medical record
- Support safe transitions of care and participate in departmental quality improvement and competency initiatives
- Adapt to varying hospital assignments and float to other nearby healthcare locations when operationally required
