Echo Technologist Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent experience as an Echo Technologist, Echocardiographer, or cardiac sonographer
- Valid Echocardiographer certification or professional credential
- Demonstrated competency performing echocardiographic studies in a hospital or comparable clinical setting
- Ability to work on-site for five 8-hour shifts per week, including scheduled Sunday rotations
- Strong attention to detail, patient-centered communication, and commitment to diagnostic quality
Echo Technologist Responsibilities
- Perform echocardiographic examinations according to established clinical protocols
- Prepare patients for cardiac imaging procedures, explain examinations clearly, and promote comfort and safety throughout each study
- Acquire high-quality cardiac images, measurements, and diagnostic data for physician interpretation
- Document procedures and findings accurately in the appropriate clinical systems
- Maintain echocardiography equipment, follow infection prevention practices, and support a safe hospital lab environment
- Collaborate with cardiologists, physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team to support timely diagnostic services
