• Shift: 12-hour nights, generally 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.; weekdays and weekends
• Weekend Rotation: Every third weekend
• Call: No on-call requirement
• Work Environment: On-site, high-acuity trauma and emergency care

Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Requirements

• Current Pennsylvania Respiratory Therapist license
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
• At least 1 year of professional respiratory therapy experience
• Experience working in a Level I trauma Emergency Department or comparable high-acuity setting
• Experience in a large hospital or trauma facility required
• Demonstrated proficiency with mechanical ventilator management and basic respiratory care
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Pediatric trauma experience is helpful
• Ability to work overnight shifts, weekdays, weekends, and the required weekend rotation

Emergency Department Respiratory Therapy Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy services for patients presenting to the Emergency Department
• Assess respiratory status and deliver timely interventions for patients with acute and chronic conditions
• Manage mechanical ventilation and support patients requiring advanced respiratory care
• Perform respiratory treatments, procedures, monitoring, and airway management within the scope of practice
• Respond to trauma cases and other emergent respiratory needs in a fast-paced environment
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary care teams to support safe, effective patient care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the electronic medical record
