MRI Technologist Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience working as an MRI Technologist
• MRI Technologist certification or equivalent professional credential
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to work on-site in an acute-care hospital and diagnostic imaging environment
• Strong attention to detail, patient-safety awareness, and communication skills

MRI Technologist Responsibilities

• Perform MRI examinations according to established imaging protocols, hospital procedures, and MRI safety standards
• Screen patients for MRI safety risks, contraindications, and appropriate examination preparation
• Position patients and explain MRI procedures while promoting comfort, safety, and cooperation
• Operate MRI equipment and review diagnostic images for technical quality and completeness
• Maintain accurate imaging documentation and follow hospital infection-control and patient-care procedures
• Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support timely diagnostic imaging services
