Travel Cardiac Sonographer Job Details

• Location: Boston, Massachusetts
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,920–$2,060
• Assignment Type: Travel healthcare contract
• Start Date: November 29, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks, through February 27, 2027
• Schedule: 40 hours per week
• Shift: 8-hour day shifts
• Healthcare Setting: Hospital-based cardiac imaging and outpatient services

Cardiac Sonographer Qualifications

• At least 1 year of professional cardiac sonography or echocardiography experience
• Cardiac Sonographer certification or equivalent professional credential
• Demonstrated proficiency in comprehensive echocardiography and cardiac ultrasound imaging
• Strong knowledge of congenital cardiac anatomy, surgical repairs, and age-dependent physiology
• Ability to recognize examination indications and acquire accurate, high-quality diagnostic images
• Ability to provide timely and accurate preliminary findings
• Commitment to patient privacy, safety standards, and departmental policies

Cardiac Sonographer Responsibilities

• Independently perform comprehensive echocardiograms, including bubble studies, stress echocardiograms, dobutamine echocardiograms, and congenital echocardiograms
• Assist with specialized cardiac evaluations, including extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) assessments and ventricular assist device (VAD) studies
• Perform cardiac imaging examinations for patients with complex cardiac conditions and varying levels of acuity
• Obtain complete, technically excellent images that support diagnostic and clinical decision-making
• Review the clinical rationale for each examination and tailor echocardiography techniques to patient needs
• Document examinations and communicate preliminary findings promptly and accurately
• Maintain compliance with patient privacy, safety, quality, and infection-prevention standards
• Collaborate with cardiologists, physicians, and the broader care team to support exceptional patient care
