Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Details

• Shift: 12-hour nights, approximately 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.
• Expected Hours: 36 hours per week
• Call: No on-call requirement

RRT Job Requirements

• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
• Active Pennsylvania respiratory therapy license
• At least 1 year of professional respiratory therapy experience
• Previous pediatric respiratory care or pediatric hospital experience preferred
• Ability to work three 12-hour overnight shifts each week
• Current COVID-19 and influenza vaccination or an approved declination, as applicable
• Strong communication, clinical judgment, and commitment to compassionate pediatric patient care

Pediatric Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory assessments and treatments for pediatric patients in a hospital setting
• Monitor patient respiratory status and respond promptly to changes in condition
• Administer respiratory therapies and operate respiratory care equipment according to clinical standards
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Document patient assessments, respiratory interventions, and treatment responses accurately and promptly
• Educate patients and families about respiratory treatments and care plans when appropriate
• Follow hospital policies, infection prevention practices, and patient safety standards
