Job Opportunity: RN - First Assist
Location: Las Cruces, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit and Role Information
- Department: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
- Role: Surgical Tech (RN - First Assist)
- Number of Openings: 1
- Shift: Varies
- Call Requirements: Every other week, including weekends
- Float Requirements: May work in the main OR if no CVOR cases are scheduled
- Required Certifications: Certified Surgical Tech, ACLS, BLS, OR First Assist Certification
- Years of Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in specialty
- Patient Population: Not specified
Required Skills and Experience
- Experience with open heart procedures including:
- Coronary artery bypass grafts
- Aortic and mitral valve surgeries
- Lung procedures
Additional Information
- The facility is a Joint Commission Accredited Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI and a Certified Primary Stroke Center.

Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
- Minimum of 1 year of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) First Assist experience, with experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- OR First Assist Certification
