Registered Nurse - Med Surg

Location

Elko, Nevada

Contract Length

13 weeks

Unit and Patient Population

Acute Care Services unit with 23 beds
Patient population includes pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 5 patients
Common diagnoses/treatments: COPD, CHF, pre/post cath lab, orthopedic surgery, general surgery, acute respiratory failure (adult and pediatrics)

Work Schedule

12-hour shifts
36 guaranteed hours per week
Weekend hours variable
Call requirements as per contract
Potential to float to other departments based on patient census and needs

Required Certifications and Licenses

Registered Nurse (RN) license
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required within 60 days of start
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required within 90 days of start
BLS (Basic Life Support) required prior to start

Experience

Minimum 1 year of experience in nursing specialty (Med Surg, Telemetry preferred)

Baxter pumps
Masimo Monitors
GE Telemetry Monitoring system
Electronic Health Record (EHR): MEDHOST

Additional Information

Orientation provided weekly
Fit testing offered on-site
Dress code: scrubs of any color allowed, no mandatory scrub color
No unacceptable attire specified beyond scrubs
No prior travel experience required
