Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room

Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Work in the Operating Room at a 355-bed hospital with multiple specialty centers including Brain, Cancer, Heart, Lung, Orthopedics, and a Level 3 NICU.
• Unit has 13 beds with a 1:1 patient ratio.
• Equipment used includes Robotics (DaVinci), Mako, Holmium Laser, and Hana table.
• Electronic Health Record system: Cerner.
• Patient population primarily adults with minimal pediatric outpatient cases.
• Shift: Four 10-hour shifts, 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM.
• Call requirement: 7 days per month including Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays; weekend call only.
• Orientation offered twice monthly.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
• Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Current ACLS certification
• Current BLS certification
• Experience with Robotics in the OR
• Experience with Spine cases

Additional Information

• No float requirements.
• Preferred experience in Orthopedics or Neurosurgery.
• Dress code: Scrubs provided and laundered by hospital; outside attire not allowed.
• Number of openings: 4-5.

On-Call Details

• One weekend and 8-9 weekday calls in a six-week schedule.
• Weekend hours are call only.
