Registered Nurse - OB/GYN (Travel)

Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Employment Type: Travel


Job Summary

  • Work on a Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit with 8 beds.
  • Patient population includes obstetrics and gynecology (GYN) patients.
  • Follow AWHONN patient ratio standards.
  • Use Cerner electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Shift: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, 36 hours per week guaranteed.
  • Weekend hours as needed; no call requirements.
  • Possible float assignments as helping hands.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina.
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Certification in Intermediate Fetal Monitoring.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience specifically in LDRP units.

Work Environment & Culture

  • Unit follows AWHONN standards for patient care.
  • Personality fit: easy-going, committed, and positive.
  • Dress code: no designated scrub color except navy scrubs supplied by hospital for C-sections.

Additional Information

  • No call requirements.
  • Patient population includes obstetrics and gynecology patients.
  • Facility includes multiple specialty centers and a Level 3 NICU (for context).
