Registered Nurse - Rapid Response

Location: Las Cruces, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Unit & Role Details

  • Department: Emergency Department (ER Service)
  • Trauma Level: Level IV
  • Number of Openings: 1
  • Shift: See shift details (36 hours per week guaranteed)
  • Weekend Hours: Every other weekend / as needed
  • Call Requirements: None
  • Float Requirements: As needed
  • Number of Beds in Unit: 20
  • Patient Population: All ages (geriatric, adult, pediatric)
  • Patient Ratios:
    • ESI 1, 2, & Horizontal 3s – 4:1
    • ESI Vertical 3s, 4, & 5 – 7:1
  • Electronic Health Record (EHR) System: MedHost

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
  • Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Current certifications (must be valid prior to start):
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)
    • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
    • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
  • Must complete New Mexico state fingerprinting and background check process before hire; a 14-day waiver with supervision is allowed while waiting on results

Preferred Experience & Skills

  • Experience in Emergency Services, Critical Care, and Trauma nursing
  • Comfortable working in a high-acuity emergency department setting
  • Positive attitude, flexibility, and willingness to teach others

Additional Information

  • Orientation is held weekly on Mondays
  • Scrub color: Any
  • Unacceptable attire: Casual wear or other facility-branded clothing
  • Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel staff
