Description

Registered Nurse - Rapid Response

Location: Las Cruces, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit & Role Details

Department: Emergency Department (ER Service)
Trauma Level: Level IV
Number of Openings: 1
Shift: See shift details (36 hours per week guaranteed)
Weekend Hours: Every other weekend / as needed
Call Requirements: None
Float Requirements: As needed
Number of Beds in Unit: 20
Patient Population: All ages (geriatric, adult, pediatric)
Patient Ratios:
- ESI 1, 2, & Horizontal 3s – 4:1
- ESI Vertical 3s, 4, & 5 – 7:1
Electronic Health Record (EHR) System: MedHost

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Current certifications (must be valid prior to start):
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
Must complete New Mexico state fingerprinting and background check process before hire; a 14-day waiver with supervision is allowed while waiting on results

Preferred Experience & Skills

Experience in Emergency Services, Critical Care, and Trauma nursing
Comfortable working in a high-acuity emergency department setting
Positive attitude, flexibility, and willingness to teach others

Additional Information

Orientation is held weekly on Mondays
Scrub color: Any
Unacceptable attire: Casual wear or other facility-branded clothing
Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel staff
