Registered Nurse - OB/GYN (Labor & Delivery)
Location: Los Alamos, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Unit & Patient Population
- Unit: Labor & Delivery / Postpartum (4 labor rooms, 4 postpartum rooms)
- Patient Population: Childbearing-aged women and newborns
- Patient Ratios:
- Labor/Delivery/Recovery/Postpartum (LDRP): 2 patients to 1 nurse
- Postpartum couplets: 3 patients to 1 nurse
- Electronic Health Records (EHR): OBIX, Medhost, GUI
Position Details

- Weekend Hours: Every other weekend / as needed

Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
- Minimum 1 year of OB/GYN nursing experience, including Labor Delivery Recovery & Postpartum (LDRP)
- OB/GYN experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Must be fingerprinted and undergo background check per New Mexico state requirements; a 14-day supervised waiver period is allowed while waiting for results (not applicable to physicians)
Work Environment & Culture
- Facility Size: 47-bed acute care facility with approximately 300 healthcare employees
- Personality Fit: Patient experience focused, teamwork oriented, eager to learn
- Dress Code: Scrubs required; no casual wear allowed
Additional Notes
- Orientation occurs weekly on Mondays
- Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel staff
- Client may require additional certifications beyond those listed
- Must comply with New Mexico Department of Health fingerprinting and background check process before hire
