Registered Nurse - OB/GYN (Labor & Delivery)

Location: Los Alamos, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Unit & Patient Population

Unit: Labor & Delivery / Postpartum (4 labor rooms, 4 postpartum rooms)
Patient Population: Childbearing-aged women and newborns
Patient Ratios:
- Labor/Delivery/Recovery/Postpartum (LDRP): 2 patients to 1 nurse
- Postpartum couplets: 3 patients to 1 nurse
Electronic Health Records (EHR): OBIX, Medhost, GUI

Position Details

Role: Registered Nurse

Weekend Hours: Every other weekend / as needed
Call Requirements: As needed
Float Requirements: As needed

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
Minimum 1 year of OB/GYN nursing experience, including Labor Delivery Recovery & Postpartum (LDRP)
OB/GYN experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Must be fingerprinted and undergo background check per New Mexico state requirements; a 14-day supervised waiver period is allowed while waiting for results (not applicable to physicians)

Work Environment & Culture

Facility Size: 47-bed acute care facility with approximately 300 healthcare employees
Personality Fit: Patient experience focused, teamwork oriented, eager to learn
Dress Code: Scrubs required; no casual wear allowed

Additional Notes

Orientation occurs weekly on Mondays
Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel staff
Client may require additional certifications beyond those listed
Must comply with New Mexico Department of Health fingerprinting and background check process before hire
