Description

Registered Nurse (ICU) - Travel Position

Location: Sanford, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

  • Position: Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
  • Shift: 7 PM to 7 AM (Night Shift)
  • Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
  • Weekend Hours: As needed, approximately every other weekend
  • Call Requirements: As needed
  • Patient Population: All ages
  • Unit Beds: 8
  • Patient Ratios: 1 nurse to 2-3 patients
  • Electronic Health Record (EHR) System: Cerner
  • Float Requirements: Yes, with a ratio of 1:6
  • Common Diagnoses/Treatments: Respiratory Failure
  • Preferred Experience: High acuity ICU experience

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
  • Minimum of 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Certifications prior to start:
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS)
    • CPI or HWC or MAB (de-escalation and safety training)

Work Environment & Culture

  • Facility: 137-bed acute care hospital with a broad range of specialties including cardiology, orthopedics, general surgery, emergency medicine, and more
  • Recognitions: Certified Primary Stroke Center, Chest Pain Center, Advanced Heart Failure Accreditation, and Stroke Rural Recognition Silver Award
  • Dress Code: Scrubs of any color allowed; casual wear is not permitted
  • Location Highlights: Small-town charm with access to big city amenities; close to Raleigh, Durham, and the Research Triangle region; local golf courses and breweries nearby

Additional Information

  • Orientation occurs weekly on Mondays
  • Candidates must be located at least 60 miles away to qualify for travel status
