Description

Registered Nurse (ICU) - Travel Position

Location: Sanford, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Position: Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Shift: 7 PM to 7 AM (Night Shift)
Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
Weekend Hours: As needed, approximately every other weekend
Call Requirements: As needed
Patient Population: All ages
Unit Beds: 8
Patient Ratios: 1 nurse to 2-3 patients
Electronic Health Record (EHR) System: Cerner
Float Requirements: Yes, with a ratio of 1:6
Common Diagnoses/Treatments: Respiratory Failure
Preferred Experience: High acuity ICU experience

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
Minimum of 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Certifications prior to start:
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS)
- CPI or HWC or MAB (de-escalation and safety training)

Work Environment & Culture

Facility: 137-bed acute care hospital with a broad range of specialties including cardiology, orthopedics, general surgery, emergency medicine, and more
Recognitions: Certified Primary Stroke Center, Chest Pain Center, Advanced Heart Failure Accreditation, and Stroke Rural Recognition Silver Award
Dress Code: Scrubs of any color allowed; casual wear is not permitted
Location Highlights: Small-town charm with access to big city amenities; close to Raleigh, Durham, and the Research Triangle region; local golf courses and breweries nearby

Additional Information

Orientation occurs weekly on Mondays
Candidates must be located at least 60 miles away to qualify for travel status
