Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room

Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Unit: Operating Room
Number of Openings: 4-5
Shift: Four 10-hour shifts, 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM
Weekend Hours: Call only on weekends
Call Requirements: 7 days per month, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
Patient Population: Adults with minimal pediatrics (outpatient only)
Patient Ratios: 1:1
Equipment Used: Robotics (Da Vinci), Mako, Holmium Laser, Hana table
Electronic Health Record (EHR) System: Cerner
Number of Beds in Unit: 13

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience within the last year
Certifications: ACLS and BLS required
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Information

No float requirements
Scrub color not specified; hospital provides scrub laundry service
Call includes weekends and requires availability 7 days per month
Facility is a 355-bed hospital with multiple specialty centers including Brain, Cancer, Heart, Lung, Orthopedics, Surgical Weight Loss, Women’s Center, and Level 3 NICU

Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify for travel status
The role involves working with advanced surgical robotics and specialized equipment in a high-acuity OR setting
The position offers a consistent schedule with call responsibilities on weekends only
