Description

Registered Nurse - OB/GYN (Labor and Delivery) - Travel Assignment

Location: Sylva, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7 PM – 7 AM
Weekly Hours: 36 (rotated weekends)
Call Requirements: None


Facility & Unit Overview

  • Acute care hospital with 86 beds
  • Labor and Delivery unit located on the 3rd floor
  • Unit beds: 5
  • Patient population: Adult and neonate
  • Patient ratios: 1:2 or 1:1
  • Electronic Health Record system: Paragon

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
  • Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience, with recent experience within the last year
  • Experience in OB/GYN nursing
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Job Responsibilities & Expectations

  • Provide care for pregnant patients during labor and delivery
  • Manage fetal monitoring and interpret heart rate tracings
  • Administer labor medications and assist with cervical exams
  • Work collaboratively as a team player with a friendly demeanor
  • Maintain professional appearance; scrub color is flexible

  • No call duties
  • Patient care focus on pregnancy-related diagnoses and treatments
  • Orientation schedule available throughout the year
