Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical (Travel)

Location: Marquette, Michigan
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Facility & Unit Overview

225-bed specialty care hospital with services including Heart & Vascular, Cancer, Brain & Spine, Rehab, Behavioral Health, Digestive Health, Bariatric Medicine & Weight Management, Women's Health, and Pediatrics
Acute Medical/Surgical Department (6th floor)
Trauma Level 2
Patient population: Adult and geriatric (ages 18-125)
Patient ratios: 5:1 to 6:1
Equipment includes telemetry monitors, Baxter IV pumps, Kangaroo pump, bladder scanner, and dynamaps
Electronic Health Record system: Cerner

Position Details

Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
Specialty: Medical/Surgical
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
Weekend hours: Rotating
Float requirements: Occasional float to similar units
Orientation: Bi-weekly

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan
Minimum 1 year of Medical/Surgical nursing experience within the last year
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Work Environment & Dress Code

Scrub color: Galaxy Blue preferred; Navy also acceptable
Fingernails must be clean, kept at appropriate length, and comply with hand hygiene policy
Tattoos that may be offensive must be covered
Excessive jewelry is not allowed

Additional Notes

Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify for travel status
Patient care involves working with telemetry monitors and other specialized equipment
Emphasis on working with adult and geriatric patients in a medical/surgical setting
