Registered Nurse (CVICU) - Travel Position
Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Weekly Hours: 36 hours
Unit & Facility Overview
- Trauma Level 3 facility with a 355-bed hospital including specialized centers (Brain, Cancer, Heart, Lung, Orthopedics, Surgical Weight Loss, Women’s Center, Level 3 NICU)
- CVICU Unit: 8 beds, adult/geriatric patient population
- Patient Ratios: Typically 2:1, occasionally 1:1
- Equipment used: Impella, IABP, CRRT
- Electronic Health Record system: Cerner
- No on-call requirements
- Weekend shifts every other weekend or as needed
- Orientation offered twice monthly
Role & Responsibilities
- Specialty focus: CABG, TAVR, STEMI, Carotids
- Float requirements as per scheduled rotation
- Strong critical thinking skills required
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse license in North Carolina
- Minimum 1 year of CVICU experience within the last year
- Certifications: ACLS and BLS required
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
Work Environment & Dress Code
- Scrubs: Any professional color acceptable
- Professional attire expected; no unacceptable attire specified
Additional Notes
- Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify for travel status
- No call responsibilities
- Patient care involves critical cardiac cases and advanced cardiac support devices
This position is ideal for experienced CVICU RNs seeking a travel assignment in a high-acuity, specialized cardiac intensive care setting.
