Description

Registered Nurse (CVICU) - Travel Assignment

Location: Lake Havasu City, Arizona
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
Call Requirements: Yes

Unit & Patient Population

Unit: ICU/CVICU (Blended ICU)
Trauma Level: III
Number of Beds: 16
Patient Ratio: 1:2
Patient Population: Adult and Geriatric
Equipment: Baxter pumps
Electronic Health Record (EHR): Medhost

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona
Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience, including experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Required Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS)
Prior travel nursing experience required
Experience as primary RN in Intermediate Care Unit
Experience floating to Emergency Department holding area for admitted patients

Job Responsibilities & Float Requirements

Primary RN for Intermediate Care Unit
Float to Emergency Department holding area as needed (for admitted patients held in ED)
Call duties as assigned

Common Diagnoses & Treatments Encountered

STEMI, NSTEMI
COPD exacerbation
Sepsis
Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG)
Valve repair/replacement
Acute Respiratory Failure
Atrial Fibrillation with Rapid Ventricular Response (A. Fib RVR)
Alcohol Withdrawal (ETOH Withdrawal)
Head Injury
Overdose
Stroke
Trauma
Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
Transcarotid Artery Revascularization (TCAR) & Transcatheter Valve Replacement (TVAR)

Additional Information

No block schedule requests; 48-hour shifts may be considered but are not guaranteed
Orientation is weekly
Local attractions include outdoor recreation such as fishing, golfing, swimming, hiking, and local dining options
Location is within driving distance to major cities and landmarks:
- Las Vegas (~2.5 hours)
- Phoenix (~3.25 hours)
- Grand Canyon National Park (~3.5 hours)
- Los Angeles or San Diego (~5 hours)

Note: Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the assignment location to qualify as travel.
