Registered Nurse (RN) - Rehabilitation
Location: Chesterfield, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Provide inpatient rehabilitation nursing care for adult patients recovering from strokes, brain or spinal cord injuries, amputations, multiple trauma, cancer, complex orthopedic injuries, and other conditions. Work collaboratively with therapists, physicians, specialists, and family members to improve patients' functional ability and quality of life.
Work Environment
- Units: Stroke, Comprehensive, Medically Complex, Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injury (float within these 5 units)
- Number of Beds: 81 private rooms
- Patient Population: Adults (18+ years)
- Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:6-7 during the day, 1:8 at night; each nurse has a dedicated tech
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) system: Epic
- Shift Hours: 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Scrub Color: Black scrubs (agency-provided ID badge required)
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- Minimum 1 year of rehabilitation nursing experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) credential
Additional Information
- Influenza Vaccination Policy: Must comply with facility flu vaccination requirements or have an approved medical/religious exemption. Masking required during flu season (Nov 1 – Mar 31) if exempt.
- Reporting: Report to Charge Nurse at 6:30 AM on first day
- Parking: Garage (upper level or back two rows of lower level)

- Emphasis on improving physical, emotional, and psychological components of recovery
- Use of specialized equipment and therapy devices in dedicated units and gymnasiums
- Supportive environment including pet therapy, outdoor healing garden, and family-friendly rooms with sleeper chairs
