Description

Registered Nurse - Med Surg (Cardiac) - Travel Assignment

Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Primarily day and afternoon shifts
Weekly Hours: 36 hours
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Unit & Patient Population

Telemetry unit with 24 beds
Patient ratio: 4:1
Patient population: Generalized cardiac patients, ages young adult to elderly adult
Common diagnoses/treatments: Chest pain, A-fib, CHF, pre- and post-care for cardiac catheterizations (groin & radial), VATS
Equipment used: Life Paks, Zoll, Masimo
Electronic Health Record system: Cerner (experience required)
May occasionally float to Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), Neurological Progressive Care Unit (NPCU), and/or Surgical units
Family-oriented unit culture

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
Experience with Cerner Electronic Health Record system

No call requirements
Dress code: Any color scrubs allowed
Trauma level: Not applicable
No float requirements beyond occasional unit float as noted
