Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery
Location: Henderson, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit and Facility Overview
- Unit: Labor and Delivery
- Number of Beds: 16
- Patient Ratios: According to AWHONN guidelines
- Patient Population: Labor and Delivery, including couplet care and some NICU experience
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) System: GE Centricity/Paragon
- Weekend Shifts: 5-6 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
- Call Requirements: No scheduled call; flexible down based on unit census and staff rotation
- Float Requirements: Not required, but may float to task/secretary if needed
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) certification
- Experience with Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) care
- Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience
Skills and Experience
- Must have experience with couplet care and LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum)
- Some NICU experience preferred
- Familiarity with fetal monitoring at an intermediate or higher level
