Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Location: Henderson, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit and Facility Overview

Unit: Labor and Delivery
Number of Beds: 16
Patient Ratios: According to AWHONN guidelines
Patient Population: Labor and Delivery, including couplet care and some NICU experience
Electronic Health Record (EHR) System: GE Centricity/Paragon
Weekend Shifts: 5-6 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule
Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
Call Requirements: No scheduled call; flexible down based on unit census and staff rotation
Float Requirements: Not required, but may float to task/secretary if needed

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) certification
Experience with Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) care
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience

Skills and Experience

Must have experience with couplet care and LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum)
Some NICU experience preferred
Familiarity with fetal monitoring at an intermediate or higher level
