Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health (Travel)
Location: White Hall, Arkansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Hours per Week: 36
Weekend Hours: Every other weekend, 24 hours
Call Requirements: None
Unit & Patient Population
- Behavioral Health Unit (BHU IP Unit 1)
- 36 beds total: 24 adult beds, 12 geriatric beds
- Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 6 patients
- Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
- Common diagnoses: Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder, Substance Use Disorder (SUD), Dementia
- EHR system: Cerner (experience required)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arkansas
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 3 years of behavioral health nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience in an acute care setting
- Certifications: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), Handle With Care
- Expertise in crisis stabilization, including verbal de-escalation and emergency physical intervention skills
- Experience with Cerner electronic health record system
- Ability to float between adult and geriatric behavioral health units
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with milieu management using the therapeutic milieu model
Work Environment & Culture
- High-energy, team-oriented environment
- Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills expected
- Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
- No clothing with hoods (jackets, hoodies) allowed
Additional Notes
- No call required
- Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
- Float between adult and geriatric BH units as needed
