Registered Nurse - Stepdown Neuro

Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit & Patient Population

Unit: Neuro Progressive Care Unit (5th floor)
Number of Beds: 20
Patient Population: Adult and Geriatric
Common Diagnoses/Treatments: Stable post-stroke, stable neuro surgery patients, telemetry patients, medical patients
Patient Ratios: Approximately 1 nurse to 22 patients (0.045 ratio)
Float Requirements: Medical, Telemetry, Neonatal units
Electronic Health Record (EHR) System: Cerner

Job Details

Specialty: Neuro Medical Strokes, Neuro-ortho surgeries, overflow telemetry and medical patients
Shift: Not specified
Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
Call Requirements: None

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
Minimum 2 years of experience in Neuro Progressive Care Unit (PCU), including experience within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Certification from the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (Multi State Cert) (ABCP)
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Information

Candidates must reside at least 60 miles away from the facility to qualify as travel staff
Orientation start dates are fixed and must be adhered to (dates available throughout June to December 2026)
