Registered Nurse (PCU) - Travel Assignment

Location: Florence, Alabama
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Critical Care Stepdown (Progressive Care Unit)
• Shift: Night (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Call: None
• Number of Openings: 2

Unit Information

• Unit: 2nd Floor, 31 beds
• Patient Population: Adult and Geriatric
• Patient Ratios: 1:4 to 1:5
• Equipment: Baxter IV pumps, occasional epidural pumps
• Electronic Health Record (EHR): Meditech

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama
• Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with chest tubes

Skills and Experience

• Must have experience with cardiac drips and chest tubes
• Preferred experience with critical care stepdown/PCU and TR bands
• Common patient diagnoses include post-vascular surgery, post-CABG, CVA, respiratory failure, heart failure, chest pain/post cath lab

• Float: Possible to med-surg unit, but unlikely
