Registered Nurse (CVICU) - Travel Assignment

Location: Lake Havasu City, Arizona
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Overview

  • Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Specialty: Blended ICU (Cardiovascular ICU)
  • Unit: ICU/CVICU, Trauma Level III
  • Number of Openings: 1
  • Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (3x12s)
  • Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
  • Call Requirements: Yes
  • Float Requirements: Intermediate Care Unit (primary RN) and ED holding (as needed)
  • Patient Population: Adult and Geriatric
  • Patient Ratios: 1:2
  • Equipment Used: Baxter pumps
  • Electronic Health Record (EHR) System: Medhost

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona
  • Minimum 2 years of Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) experience, including experience within the last year
  • Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

  • STEMI (ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction)
  • NSTEMI (Non-ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction)
  • COPD exacerbation
  • Sepsis
  • Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG)
  • Valve repair/replacement
  • Acute Respiratory Failure
  • Atrial Fibrillation with Rapid Ventricular Response (A. Fib RVR)
  • Alcohol Withdrawal (ETOH Withdrawal)
  • Head Injury
  • Overdose
  • Stroke
  • Trauma
  • Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
  • Transcarotid Artery Revascularization (TCAR) & Transcatheter Valve Replacement (TVAR)

  • Facility is a Joint Commission Accredited community hospital and regional referral center with 171 beds
  • Certified Chest Pain Center
  • Outdoor recreation opportunities nearby including fishing, golfing, swimming, and hiking
  • Close proximity to major cities: Las Vegas (~2.5 hours), Phoenix (~3.25 hours), Grand Canyon (~3.5 hours), Los Angeles/San Diego (~5 hours)
  • Housing options available
  • No block schedule requests; 48-hour shifts can be considered but are not guaranteed

Orientation

  • Weekly orientation provided

Note: Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify for this travel assignment.
