Registered Nurse - Med Surg Telemetry (Travel)

Job Type

• Travel assignment
• Contract length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

• Acute Care Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• 34 beds
• Patient ratio: 6:1
• Patient population: geriatric, adults, occasional pediatrics (peds not assigned to traveler)
• Equipment includes Alaris pumps, SCD machines, feeding tubes, telemetry monitors
• Electronic Health Record system: Cerner

Schedule & Hours

• Shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours each (3x12s)
• Weekly hours: approximately 36 hours
• Occasional weekend work required (same 7a-7p or 7p-7a shifts)
• Call only when unit is down staffed or placed on call

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Registered Nurse (RN) license
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Arizona
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• One year or more of total travel nursing experience
• Current ACLS certification
• Current BLS certification

Job Responsibilities & Expectations

• Care for telemetry, surgical, and general medical patients
• Possible float to care for inpatient holds
• Flexible and willing to assist where needed

Dress Code

• Scrubs of any color
• Closed-toe shoes required
• Only scrubs allowed for clinical staff

Note: Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify for travel status.
