Occupational Therapist (OT) - Travel Assignment

Location: Longview, Texas
Contract Length: 6 weeks

Job Summary

Join a 36-bed inpatient acute rehabilitation hospital specializing in intensive, customized rehabilitation for patients recovering from stroke, brain injury, neurological conditions, trauma, spinal cord injury, amputation, and orthopedic injury. The role focuses on maximizing patient health, function, and quality of life through comprehensive physical medicine and rehabilitation programs.

Position Details

• Discipline: Occupational Therapy
• Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Weekly Hours: 40 (weekends as needed)
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 5 to 6 patients per therapist
• Work Environment: Use of therapeutic equipment; electronic health records system (Wellsky)
• Patient Population: Adults with a wide variety of neurological and orthopedic diagnoses including CVA, Parkinson’s, spinal cord injury, TBI, cardiopulmonary conditions, amputees, and medically complex cases
• Teamwork: Must work cooperatively with interdisciplinary team members and maintain professional occupational therapy standards

Required Qualifications

• Valid Occupational Therapist license in Texas
• Minimum 2 years of Occupational Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
• Current BLS certification
• ABCP certification
• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy or related field

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and initiate appropriate occupational therapy interventions
• Observe and evaluate treatment effectiveness and progress toward goals
• Recommend changes to physicians as necessary
• Maintain standards of professional occupational therapy practice and interdisciplinary teamwork
